El Dorado High School is proud to announce the 8th Annual El Dorado Film Festival for secondary students and their teachers. The 2010 Festival has several categories for traditional film/video and computer generated animation.

The El Dorado Film Festival will be held on the El Dorado High School campus in the Gai Jones Theater on May 1st.

There will be prizes awarded in 6 or more student categories and 1 teacher category. The student categories include Short Film, Theatrical Trailer, Documentary, Advertising/Propaganda/Public Service Announcement, Music Video and Animation, which may include computer generated animation.

All EDHS students and their teachers are welcome to enter.  The closing date for entries will be FRIDAY - APRIL 10th.  Check this website for the latest information.

Because this event will take place in the school environment with audiences viewing the works on a data projector, entries can be accepted in a range of formats that can be played back on computers. This allows students the flexibility to use a range of media for producing their work.

This year’s film festival will be presented in a widescreen 16:9 format.  All filmmakers are encouraged to submit their work in this format for the optimal viewing experience at the El Dorado Film Festival.  Entries in the television 4:3 format will be shown with black bars on the sides of their work and their projects will not fill the entire screen.
